Mode Identification of the Slowly Pulsating F 0 V Star
We have investigated the F0V star V398Aurigae (= 9 Aur) under the assumption that it is undergoing non-radial gravity mode oscillations and that the two principal periods given by Krisciunas et al. (1995) are correct. We find that the two periods are manifestations of an l = 3, |m| = 1 spheroidal mode and its toroidal corrections due to the rotation of the star. As far as we know, this is the f...
متن کاملSeismic Wave-Field Propagation Modelling using the Euler Method
Wave-field extrapolation based on solving the wave equation is an important step in seismic modeling and needs a high level of accuracy. It has been implemented through a various numerical methods such as finite difference method as the most popular and conventional one. Moreover, the main drawbacks of the finite difference method are the low level of accuracy and the numerical dispersion for l...
متن کاملAstronomy and Astrophysics the Δ Scuti Star Fg Vir. Iv. Mode Identifications and Pulsation Modelling
This paper examines the mode identification and presents pulsation models for FG Vir, for which 24 frequencies have been detected. Histograms of the frequency spacings show peaks which are identified with adjacent radial orders and rotational splitting. Pulsational l values are deduced for eight modes by comparing the observed photometric phase lags between v and y variations with calculated va...
متن کاملExamples of seismic modelling
Findings of a few recent asteroseismic studies of the main-sequence pulsating stars, as performed in Wojciech Dziembowski’s group in Warsaw and in Michel Breger’s group in Vienna, are briefly presented and discussed. The selected objects are three hybrid pulsators ν Eridani, 12 Lacertae and γ Pegasi, which show both β Cephei and SPB type modes, and the δ Scuti type star 44Tauri. Session: STARS ...
متن کاملStellar and circumstellar activity in the Be star EW Lacertae from the 1993 multi-site campaign
A multi-site, multi-technique campaign on the Be star EW Lac was held for about 9 days in August-September 1993. We present results of the analysis of visual, high S/N spectroscopic data (He I 6678 Å and Hα). Search for shortterm variability was carried out on He I 6678 (line profiles, radial velocity (RV), equivalent width (EW), full width at half-maximum (FWHM) on the absorption part of the l...
